The Craftsmanship Awards jury included Clarke Jewell with Olympian Precast, Inc., Chris Cox from Castone Corporation and Dino Diana from American Stone Virginia, LLC.
AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN CRAFTSMANSHIP:
PROJECT: Avalon @ Prudential Chill Bench
- Architect: Copley-Wolff Design Group
- Installation: Patriot Restoration
- Jury Comments: This project is a great example of ‘old school’ hand craftsmanship – taking a designer’s vision to create multiple free-form complex shapes. Stunning!
AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN DESIGN & MANUFACTURING:
PROJECT: Fisher Hill Reservoir Park – Water Feature
- Architect: Klopfer Martin Design Group
- Installation: Argus Construction
- Jury Comments: This project used creative application for precast elements. Though the project is of a small scale, it demonstrates thoughtfulness in both design and context, as well as in execution of craft. Tremendous care appears to have been taken in order to create everything from the precast element’s slopes and fluted rib patterning.
